At Henderson, we proudly refer to ourselves as a “full-service” brokerage capable of handling all aspects of our clients’ structured settlement needs. In this blog post, we will explain what that means and how this can benefit you.

Industry Knowledge & Experience

Henderson has been providing structured settlement services to claimants, counsel and insurers for nearly 40 years. In that time, we have successfully brokered tens of thousands of structured settlements for clients across Canada. We draw on this wealth of knowledge and experience to best serve our clients by providing expert advice on all aspects of the structure industry.

Highly Trained Structure Consultants

Our structure consultants are lawyers and insurance professionals with decades of combined experience handling statutory accident benefits, tort and long-term disability claims on behalf of both insurers and claimants. They understand the complexities involved in resolving these claims and utilize structures to bridge divides and encourage resolution.

All of our consultants are licensed insurance agents under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and complete the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant® (CSSC®) Professional Certification Program. CSSC is the industry’s oldest and most respected designation, establishing educational standards for structured settlement professionals throughout Canada and the U.S.

All the Services You Need, Under One Roof at No Cost

At Henderson, all of the services needed to complete a structured settlement, from initial consultation through closing documentation, are provided in-house at no cost to our clients.

Our dedicated and highly-experienced brokerage department ensures that clients receive the best structured settlement income/cost attainable in the marketplace, including matching or exceeding structure quotes generated by our competitors. All structured settlements produced by Henderson are brokered solely by this guiding principle and without regard to compensation.

All closing documentation, including tort and accident benefit releases and court orders, is prepared by our in-house legal team and reviewed to ensure compliance with the tax-free requirements set by the Canada Revenue Agency. Our legal team guides clients through the closing documentation process and is available to answer any questions clients may have regarding their structure’s legal implications.

Available When You Need Us

A team of consultants and on-call analysts means that we are always available to support our clients, both in-person and virtually, by meeting with claimants at their home or legal representative’s office and providing real-time evaluative and illustration support at settlement meetings, mediations, arbitrations and pre-trials.

We know our clients’ needs are often time-sensitive, and we pride ourselves on our fast response time and ability to generate evaluative and illustrative reports quickly and efficiently. Our dedicated staff ensure that you get the structure information you need, when you need it, to make informed decisions.

Ongoing Customer Service

Once a structure is placed, our customer service team steps in to provide ongoing support to clients for the entire term of their structure. We arrange for direct deposit of structure payments and liaise with the relevant life companies concerning updated client contact information, beneficiary designations and banking. From the first payment to the last, we are there to ensure that the structure payments flow as intended, and all client inquiries are answered promptly.
